3 – Satan is Only Evil
There is a responsible party for all of the horrible things that happen in the world. His name is Lucifer. He was an angel who tore the fabric of heaven by disobeying God. The world calls him Satan or the Devil. When Jesus was sacrificed and God resurrected Him, Lucifer was stripped of the power of death over all who would be born-again and thereby spirit transferred out of this realm to the heavenly realm. It is every believer’s privilege and responsibility to believe and act in that fact and identity. Lucifer knows that in the end he is eternally punished and there’s nothing he can do about it, so his mission is to take down as many of God’s precious humans with him. He is not compassionate, he doesn’t play fair, and he will go after the weak and vulnerable first. He is not creative or particularly organized. He is also fairly short staffed. Other angels left heaven with Lucifer, but they are not multiplying because they cannot.
All the blame for evil must be placed only on Lucifer. To feel angry, outraged, and defensive when we see evil happen is good and appropriate as long as it is aimed at the enemy. We must start believing Yahweh’s goodness and Lucifer’s evil and recognize that he is responsible for all the sickness, war, poverty, tragedy, death, and disease in the world that has happened since Adam and Eve.
