Celebrating Easter is about the Resurrection of Jesus, but we get stuck there and forget to think about how deep and far the impact of His resurrection reaches. We are not celebrating only that Jesus rose from the dead, but that His resurrection from the dead enables ALL OF HUMANITY to be resurrected to life - through simply believing Him.
Romans 6:5 ESV “For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we shall certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his.”
Yes, in order to do that He had to bear all our sin on the cross and it was horrific. But we no longer live in that moment. The greatest way for us to celebrate what Jesus did for us is to fully embrace the gift of LIFE that He has given to us! Your finest gratitude to Jesus lies in how you choose to LIVE - alive to life and dead to death.
Romans 6:10-11 ESV “ For the death he died he died to sin, once for all, but the life he lives he lives to God. So you also must consider yourselves dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus.”
Anyone who is born again who walks around sighing, “I’m just a sinner.” Completely disregards what Jesus did on the cross and in His resurrection. No, He made you RIGHTEOUS, and to believe that He did not is to imply that His sacrifice was not enough.
Galatians 5:2-6 ESV “Look: I, Paul, say to you that if you accept circumcision, Christ will be of no advantage to you. I testify again to every man who accepts circumcision that he is obligated to keep the whole law. You are severed from Christ, you who would be justified[a] by the law; you have fallen away from grace. For through the Spirit, by faith, we ourselves eagerly wait for the hope of righteousness. For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision counts for anything, but only faith working through love.”
So I hope this video ruffles some feathers in the nicest way possible because we need to wake up to who we are now as born again children of God, alive to LIFE in Christ Jesus!
Happily,
Tabitha
